What We Have Enjoyed in Balkans?

Meals

The first meal that we tasted in Balkans was "Cevapi" with original letters "Ćevapčići". It is really worth to try and one of the best things in the Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Before I have been there, I serached some where to eat this dish and I met "Ćevabdžinica
Želzo" in Sarajevo. This restaurant is also related with a fooball team with the same name. Many photos of the football team adorn the walls. Restaurant has a warm athmosphere and Cevapi is a kind of fast food in Balkans.

It comprises 6 piece of meatball inside of a half loaf of bread and serve with some onion, "kajmak"/cream, and as a beverage; they call yoghurt but it more liquid than yoghurt, but not as liquid as "ayran". But it is tasty and good with the Cevapi.

Cevapi, Saraybosna'da denediğimiz ve çok çok beğendiğimiz, bizdeki İnegöl köfteyi anımsatan şekli ve tereyağlı bazlamanın içindeki sunumuyla mükemmel bir öğün. Cevapiyi yanında onların yoğurt dediği, bizim ayran olarak düzelttiğimiz ama adının yoğurt olduğunda ısrarcı oldukları bi içecekle sunuyorlar. Yoğurttan sıvı fakat ayran kadar da akışkan değil, ama sulandırınca ayran oluyo. Biz yaptık oldu yani. :D 

Bir de kaymak var ki yine yemeğin beraberinde gelen, biz "Ne alaka yeaa?" desek de köfteyle güzel gidiyomuş. Kahvaltıda, tatlıların üstünde bile kaymak yemeyen ben, yeni şeyler denemekten kaçmamak adına yedim, pişman değilim.

Bir yere turist olarak gitmeden önce benim için yapılması gereken en önemli iş oranın yerel yemekleri ve en iyisinin nerde olduğunu araştırmaktır. Araştırmalarım sırasında karşılaştığım "Želzo" başka yerde de denemeyi düşündürmeyecek kadar güzeldi. Restoranda nerdeyse yenilen tek şey cevapi ve duvarlarındaki restoranla aynı adı taşıyan futbol takımının resimleri oldukça ilgi çekici.

Another food we have tried in Sarajevo is Burek. Its origin comes from word of "Börek". But in English we can call it as a kind of pastry. It was delicious too but our favorite is still cevapi. :) You should try burek with cheese, potatoe and spinac, all of them is good. It is serve with yoghurt too. We ate it at "Buregdzinica Sac". It is also in Baščaršija and really close to Želzo.

Balkanlara gitti de börek yemedi olmasın diye bir öğünümüzü de ona ayırdık. Anne yapımı bir kol böreği yememiş bir yabancı için çok güzel olabilir tabi ama bizi kesmedi. :D Beğenmedik diyemeyiz ama bizdekiler kadar lezzetli değildi, hatta biraz yağlıydı diyebilirim.

 Burek de yoğurtla sunuluyor, bu sefer bardakta değildi ama. :)

In Mostar our dinner was usual, not a traditional or special one. But it was the most enjoyable one. The name of the restaurant is "Konoba Taurus" I guess, If I didn't read wrongly. If you stay in old town of the Mostar, you should eat at there, I highly recommend to you.

 Konoba Taurus, Mostar'da kaldığımız akşam yemek yediğimiz restoran, şöminesiyle, sakin ortamıyla. güzel yemekleri ve incelikli servisiyle bizi oldukça mutlu etti.

While we were in Dubrovnik we had a georgeous feast which covers delicious sea foods. But unfortunately I had fotgotten to note the name of the restaurant. So I just can say it was in old town. :) 

We ate lobster for the first time in our lifes. It is not bad but I think it is not worth to kill a lobster for its little very little eatable part. There was also mussles. They were different from mussles that in Belgium and also Turkey. They just boiled and serve them. Calamary and fish that we ate there were amazing.

 I loved Adriatic sea foods. 

Dubrovnik'e gitmişken denizden bişey yemeseydik olmazdı. Biraz tesadüfle karışık mükemmel bir restoran bulduk ve Türk olmamamızdan da faydalanarak uygun fiyatlı bir ziyafet çektik kendimize. 

Restoranda Türkçe menü var ve garson az da olsa Türkçe konuşabiliyor. Dileyene rakı servisi de mevcut. Ama ne yazık ki yerin adını not etmeyi unuttuğum için sizinle de paylaşamıyorum. :/ 

Bir efsane olarak kalacak anılarda. :D

And while we were waiting for the dinner, I was really busy with account our bill and other costs and converting our money. :)

Beers

The most beer brand that I liked in Balkans is Karlovačko. It is a Croatian brand, but it is common in Bosnia and Herzegovina too. 

Karlovačko, bir diğer Hırvat birası olan "Ožujsko"'ya göre daha az asitli ve içimi daha kolay. Sizin damak zevkiniz hangisine daha uygunsa seçersiniz artık. :)

Marshall Bar in Mostar was another stop point for us after dinner. It is little and well designed bar. There are many musical instrument at the ceiling of the bar. We tasted another beer brand which's name is "Jelen Pivo" from Serbia in a "Pan" glass. :D And I should warn you about very talkative owner of the bar and also there is a cute and really cool golden retriever as a fixture of the bar. :)

Yemeğinizi yedikten sonra bişeyler içebileceğiniz sevimli bir bar Marshall. Tavana asılı duran müzik aletleri oldukça yaratıcıydı. Sahibi biraz geveze kitleyebiliyor sizi. Burda da Bosna Hersek birası bulamadım; ama Sırp birası denemek de bişey kaybettirmedi tabi.

Dubrovnik'teyken keyifli vakit geçirdiğimiz Art Cafe'den de bahsetmeden geçemeyeceğim. Bizi çeken yine dekorasyon oldu sanırım. :)
